Road Allowance

It is unlawful to store vehicles/trailers on Road Allowance.  Any vehicle left for more than 72 hours is considered “abandoned” and subject to impoundment pursuant to the Traffic Safety Act.  It is also contrary to sections 6.6 and 11.1.3  of the Zoning Bylaw.  As a village we rely heavily on “voluntary compliance” by residents to comply with Bylaws.  While council recognize geography and the fact Tatanka Drive does not follow the center of the road allowance makes it necessary for some residents to park private vehicles on road allowance, the storage of vehicles and trailers not in use is not in keeping with the intent.  Should you require seasonal storage the village has created a storage area for trailers and ice shacks for residents who do not have sufficient storage on their property for a nominal fee.

Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
